President

Jenna Sherwin is a senior studying Civil Engineering with a focus in hydraulics/hydrology. As the President, Jenna organizes professional events for students and primarily assists with the planning of the Chicago trip and the CEEFA Banquet. She has previously served as the Vice President and Treasurer for ASCE. Outside of ASCE, Jenna is also the Corporate and Alumni Relations Director for the Society of Women Engineers, serves as an IA for CEE 265, and is a member of STEM. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, travelling, and drawing.

Vice President

Megan Brown is a senior studying Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Engineering and Management. Megan is responsible for organizing the Civil and Environmental Engineering Career Fair as well as assisting other board members with various events. Outside of ASCE, Megan is a member of New Life Church and a student manager with the Center for Campus Involvement.

Treasurer

Joey Peterson is a senior studying Environmental Engineering with a certification in Program in Sustainable Engineering. This is his first year in ASCE and he is also serving as the treasurer. He is responsible for keeping track of the group's spending while. Outside of class, Joey works as a R and D intern for The Oakwood Group and is also a member of MSTEM, Lead Scholars, and the Rotaract Club. In his free time, Joey likes snowboarding, hunting, fishing, hangout with friends, and spending time in the UP.

Southeast Branch Representative

Zihua Qian is a junior studying civil engineering. This is her first year in ASCE and is serving as the Southeast Representative for the ASCE YMG group. Outside of school, Zihua is involved in Urbanism Club and enjoys art, spending time with friends, and the outdoors.

Social Media Chair

Barbara Hernandez is a senior studying Civil Engineering. As the Social Chair, she promotes ASCE's activities, mainly weekly Speaker Series, in our social media and website. She works alongside the CEE department on promoting the department events and news. Outside ASCE, Barbara is part of Club Gymnastics. She enjoys spending time outside, hiking, camping, and snowboarding. But, she also appreciates a good book with a cup of coffee for a relaxing day.

Outreach Chair

Reece Lynch is a senior studying Environmental Engineering with a minor in Urban Studies. As Outreach Chair, she’s responsible for planning activities to help CEE students engage with their community. Outside of ASCE, she’s involved with backpacking club, the triathlon team, and serves as Co-President for Prison Birth Project. In her free time, she likes to hike, read, climb, and find new places to hammock.

Communications Chair

Dylan Gottheim is a junior studying Civil Engineering with a minor in Entrepreneurship. As Communications Chair, Dylan schedules speakers for and manages the ASCE Speaker Series for the University of Michigan chapter. This past summer, Dylan worked at the Port Authority of NY & NJ as a construction manager contributing to both the future World Trade Center Tower 5 and the Performing Arts Center (PAC), two important and innovative projects for NY. Outside of school, you can find Dylan on the tennis court, watching football and hockey or playing video games with friends. He loves to travel and trying different foods from around the world.

Social Chair

Elizabeth Maczynski is a senior studying Civil Engineering with the intention to attend law school upon graduation. She hopes to pursue a career in construction and energy law. Elizabeth is responsible for organizing ASCE outreach events and planning an alumni banquet. At the university, she is also a member of the College of Engineering Honor Council. Elizabeth enjoys practicing hot yoga, skiing, and reading in her free time.

Secretary

Joey Ryan is a junior studying Civil Engineering with a minor in Urban Studies. As secretary Joey manages our membership and coordinates events and plans with other student organizations. This past summer, Joey worked for the University of Michigan as a Civil Engineer and assisted in the upkeep and planning of campus infrastructure. Outside of school, Joey is a member of the euphonium section of the Michigan Marching Band and Hockey Band and can likely be found there or holed up in a library. He likes to read, attempt to cook, and tinker with various different projects.
