Emma Anielak is a senior studying Civil Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. As President, Emma organizes professional events for students and primarily assists with the planning of the Chicago trip. Last year, Emma was the Southeast Branch Representative on the ASCE Board. Emma is also involved in other student organizations on campus including the Michigan Concrete Canoe Team and Elementary Engineering Partnerships.
Jenna Sherwin is a junior studying Civil Engineering with a concentration in hydraulics/hydrology. As the Vice President, Jenna co-organizes the annual Civil and Environmental Engineering Career Fair, sponsored by the College of Engineering. During her sophomore year, Jenna served as treasurer for the ASCE. Outside of ASCE, Jenna is also an officer in the Society of Women Engineers, a member of the Michigan Concrete Canoe Team, and enjoys hanging out with her friends and drawing.
Joey Peterson is a Junior studying Environmental Engineering with a certification in Program in Sustainable Engineering. This is his first year in ASCE and he is also serving as the treasurer. He is responsible for keeping track of the group's spending while. Outside of class, Joey works as a R and D intern for The Oakwood Group and is also a member of MSTEM, Lead Scholars, and the Rotaract Club. In his free time, Joey likes snowboarding, hunting, fishing, hangout with friends, and spending time in the UP.
Southeast Branch Representative
Minghao Chen is a Master's student in Civil Engineering with a concentration in intelligent systems. He also is pursuing a dual degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering with Operations Research. As the SE Branch Representative, Minghao speaks for the Michigan Chapter and helps make the SE Branch decision. He used to be the steel bridge team leader in his bachelor's school SWJTU chapter and led the team to win first place in the Mid-Pacific conference. He enjoys watching movies especially sci-fi movies and photography.
Social Media Chair
Xiao Xiao Wen is a senior studying Civil Engineering and minoring in Computer Science. As the Social Chair, she promotes ASCE's activities, mainly weekly Speaker Series, through emails and the website. She also enjoys promoting the department and organization's events. Outside ASCE, Xiao Xiao enjoys spending time with her roommates, thrifting, and traveling. Within Civil Engineering, Xiao Xiao is interested in structural engineering and forensic engineering.
Megan Brown is a junior studying Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Engineering and Management. Megan is responsible for organizing events that provide students with the opportunity to give back to their community. Outside of ASCE, Megan is a member of New Life Church and a student manager with the Center for Campus Involvement.
James Bass is a senior studying Civil Engineering with a concentration in Transportation Engineering. As Communications Chair, James schedules speakers for and manages the ASCE Speaker Series for the University of Michigan chapter. This past summer, James worked at HNTB in Austin, TX on the Blue Line Light Rail Project. Outside of school, James enjoys outdoor activities including sports and hiking, as well as spending time with friends.
Andrew Hager is a senior studying Civil Engineering and minoring in Computer Science. He hails from Mio, Michigan, a quaint Northern Michigan town located on the AuSable River in the Huron National Forest. At the university, he’s helped redevelop our CEE's Seismic Design Competition team, served as the chair of the Michigan Union Board of Representatives and served as the Social Chair of our ASCE Student Chapter. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running, biking, and skiing.
